MORINVILLE NEWS ITEH

On Thursday, February 4, a milestone
was passed by a group of Protestants in
Morinville in that, after a year and a
half of working and waiting, they pre-
sented a petition to the Edmonton Pres|
tery requesting that they be conatituted|
as a congregation of the United Church.
‘The petition was granted. In November
1963, Rev. Dr. Schwars of St. Albert
United Church was asked by some inter
ested persons of Morinville to begin a
program of study mee Morinville

DELINQUENT BORROWERS _|

fin. Sopaovich's Libs Report fon 1964 (ae0 2) shows a heat. interest
and growth in this poe use of leisure time, 'Atoabnetitie on. Seth
has some complaints regarding bonravers who do not return their books in tine.
This disturbs the smooth operation of our Library and is unfair to the others
who also want to read these books. These people should realize that they ane
misusing public property and that this should not be tolerated.

Why not have each borrower pay a amalt deposit shen joining the Library? This
money could stay in trust as long as the borrower mahes use of the Libary.
St a book is not retuned within a reasonable length of time, his deposit
would automatically be forfeited. Those who move amay could have their depo~
ait refunded. Under this system conrect borrowers will not suffer, but the
incorrect borrowers will pay fon thein sina!

NO FEAR

(Canada's new flag, a symbol of unity and freedom, can teach us in St, Albert
a teason. Unity and freedom, respect fon each others principles, is a price-
tess treasure which all of us should atard up for, ard safeguard. Unity and
freedom don't mean that we atl agree with each other on that we will alt
march under the same banner. History has mroven mary times that march

under one banner was false unity and didn't last very tong. Alt of as ew
tearn to understand this, and we should teach oun children to accent and nes~
pect uthers who do not follow our banner on our ideas,

But we should also realize that the other thinks that his principle is the
beat fax his community. This is hard to learn and it is hander still to pracy
tice. But this attitude is the only way to come to real unity and freedom in
our community. There should never be cause for any of our citizens to feat
to apeak on act in the way he thinks will be best for his community. We
should respect him and even ence him to use this {reedom in this country
where freedom is assured by law and where thousands gave their Lives for this
Community Life auld be rather dull if everyone agreed vith everjone else all
the time. Everybody is aware that this dull situation doesn't exist in our
toun. Sometimes the arguments get hot leven the beat parents have healthy
quattels sdmetimes) but me should never forget that with suck controversies
should go atrong reapect for each ather oninions and principles, Acting in
this may we surely will avoid ary false unity in which no community can ever
